My Pop was not there when I was born,
My mom's marriage was soon to be torn.
He met my mom in another land after she left,
Soon their love was put to a life long test.
My Pop is on heck of a man,
He gave us Birthdays, Holidays, and trips thru the land.
Mom found the best man to be had,
He said to us kids, " Why I'll be your dad"
Keeping the elephants away,
Was his claim to fame.
He loved us all and then one day,
He gave us his name.
My Pop gave us a life the best he could,
And put up with us like he said he would.
When times were tough, he stood there too,
To give us knowledge, advice and guide us thru.
My Pop is one heck of a man,
Ask my mom, he is the best in this land.
He is a very good man, not at all bad,
And has done more for me than my biological dad.
Now it is "Father's day and I will tell you this too.
Every word of this poem is absolutely true.
In my world it is Pop's day,and I give a gift from the heart
Because they mean so much more than the gifts from Walmart.
I love you POP.......... Happy Pop's Day!
